LAKHIMPUR: The Lakhimpur district unit of the Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) observed the 44th foundation day of the organization in a befitting manner on Saturday. On this occasion, a day-long programme was held at the district office of the organization, located at Milan Nagar of North Lakhimpur town. The programme began with the unfurling of the organizational flag by district president Hiranya Dutta. A Swahid Tarpan event was conducted by general secretary Debojit Deka Baruah. It was followed by the 'Satirtha Smaran' event, in which AJYCP Central Committee vice-president Hemchandra Goswami, assistant general secretary Saurabh Das and executive member Pradip Sarmah delivered lectures commemorating the martyred, demised leaders and members of the organization.
As a part of the event, a blood donation camp was organized at the blood bank of Lakhimpur Medical College and Hospital wherein a total of 30 organizational members, including the district president, donated blood. Then a formal meeting was organized in order to discuss the organizational issues. It commenced with president Hiranya Dutta in the chair under the management of the general secretary. In the meeting, resolutions were taken to strengthen the organizational foundation and to initiate programmes for the public wellbeing. The event concluded with lighting of earthen lamps in the evening.
