Asom Natya Parishad will stage theatre with a unique experiment to mark the 20th death anniversary of Aideu Handique on December 17.

LAKHIMPUR: Asom Natya Parishad will stage theatre with a unique experiment to mark the 20th death anniversary of Aideu Handique on December 17. On this occasion, the organization will stage a drama named Aideu on December 17 and December 18 while another drama by children artistes will be staged on December 19.

To hold the three-day long event with success to commemorate the legendary actress of Assamese cinema, the organization has been making all kinds of arrangements and doing due rehearsal since December 5.

The event will be organized at Hatilung-Bowalguri Namghar premises in association with Hatilung-Bowalguri Samanway Yuva Sanghaaru Kristi Bikash Kendra. According to Mintu Saikia, the director of Asom Natya Parishad, the experiment of the drama production is titled as MuktanganNatak- open theatre, which will be performed not in the common stage but on specially arranged platforms heralding a new trend in staging drama.

The drama Aideu has been composed by Mintu Saikia on the life of AideuHundique. It will be staged under the direction of noted theatre personality Asim Kumar Sarmah. On the other hand, the children's drama titled Rang Kiniba Kone will be staged under the direction of Krishna Bhuyan. On December 17, a commemoration programme on AideuHandique will be held from 4.45pm. Theatre personalities like AtulMazumdar from Guwahati, Himanshu Ranjan Bhuyan from Tezpur and Minakshiv Borah from Golaghat will take part in the event. In connection with the event, an exhibition of children art and architecture will also be organized during the three-day long period.
