DOOMDOOMA: The third full-fledged executive committee meeting of Asom Xahitya Xabha (AXX) got underway on Sunday morning at Doomdooma Natya Mandir. The two-day meeting was hosted by Doomdooma Sakha Xahitya Xabha (DSXX) under the aegis of Tinsukia Zila Xahitya Xabha (TZXX) and in cooperation with Rupai Sakha Xahitya Xabha (RSXX).
The programme began with the hoisting of the Xabha flag by its president, Padmashree Dr. Surjyakanta Hazarika, while the Smriti Tarpan programme was initiated by vice president Dr. Girish Handique. Doomdooma MLA Rupesh Gowala attended the programme.
Senior journalist and former president of TZXX, Arjun Baruah, formally inaugurated the meeting, which was chaired by Dr. Surjyakanta Hazarika. In the meeting, a new edition of the AXX Patrika and a collection of poems by Joysurjya Bora were unveiled.
On the second day, the executive body meeting was held at 10 a.m. In the meeting, various issues related to Xabha were discussed, including the huge financial anamolies held in the Sabha during the last executive committee’s tenure.
