KOKRAJHAR: A 15-year-old girl of Nayachara under Salakati Police Outpost in Kokrajhar district was raped by five persons on Thursday evening. She was rescued by local people on Thursday morning in Nayachara whose hands and mouth were tied by rope and cloth. The girl was admitted at RN Brahma Civil Hospital, Kokrajhar while police have arrested a person in this connection.
Sources said the girl was called out of her home on Wednesday evening by Saminur Ali of Joregaon under the same police outpost. She was taken to an isolated place where she was given drugs and raped. She disclosed that she was taken away by Saminur Ali and given drugs and raped by him and his campanions and wa left alone after committing the crime.
Meanwhile, police have arrested a person suspected to have been involved in the rape case. The local people have demanded immediate arrest of all the culprits involved in the rape case. The Additional SP (Crime Branch) of Kokrajhar Prithraj Rajkhowa said investigation was going on.
