Guwahati: A software engineer from Assam died after he fell from the 10th floor of a building in Bengaluru here on Saturday.

The deceased identified as 28-year-old Trideep Konwar who was a resident of Narayanpur, Lakhimpur, died on the spot.

Konwar was residing at Sobha Dahlia Apartment at Green Glen Layout in Bellandur and was working in Whitefield.

As per reports, the incident took place around 3 am on Saturday when he and his roommate had gone to a party on Saturday night.

After they returned to the apartment, they found that two others who were staying in the same apartment had come out to collect their food from a food delivery person.

All four of them met and decided to party at the victim's flat. Since liquor bottles were left on the terrace, all of them went to collect them and they continued their drinking.

Reportedly, Konwar, who was sitting on the parapet wall of the terrace, is suspected to have accidentally slipped and fallen down.

Meanwhile, the police are waiting for the post-mortem report to ascertain if the victim was under the influence of alcohol.

In July this year, a youth from Assam named Rakesh Singh was found dead under mysterious circumstances in his residence in Delhi's Tilak Nagar area.

Singh reportedly lived in a rented space in the Tilak Nagar area from where his body was recovered by the police.

The matter came to light after the deceased neighbours complained of a foul smell after which police came in to find the body of the deceased.

As per the preliminary investigation, police suspect that the victim died a few days ago as the body had already started decaying.

The deceased was employed by a call center in Delhi where he was working and was reportedly preparing for Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examinations.
