Assam: 35 Injured As Bus Falls Into Pond In Golaghat

Subsequently, the injured ones parted their ways to a civil hospital in Golaghat for medical emergency treatment.

Golaghat: At least 35 people were allegedly injured after a bus lost its control and fell into a pond in Assam's Golaghat here on Tuesday.

As per reports, the bus was filled with as many as 40 laborers.

The incident occurred at Chakihola road of Silonijan while it was proceeding towards Parmeshwari tea garden. Subsequently, the injured ones parted their ways to a civil hospital in Golaghat for medical emergency treatment.

Prior to the incident today, two individuals lost their lives and one more was injured in a road accident that came about in the Bajali district of Assam.

The accident occurred when a Tata Magic Van came into collision with the divider at the national highway road number 31 in the Kohora region.

The deceased persons have been identified as Noor Mohammad Ali and Niren Barman.

Earlier in August 2022, around 6 jawans of Indo Tibetan Border Police witnessed death while 32 others were injured after the bus fell down in a rolling motion on the road at Frislan, Pahalgam.

As per reports, the civil bus had been carrying 39 officials who fell on the road after the bus' breaks failed.

Another similar incident occurred in July 2022, when around sixteen individuals inclusive of schoolchildren, were killed after a bus fell into a ravine in Himachal Pradesh's Kullu.

The Deputy Commissioner of Kullu Ashutosh Garg stated that the district officials along with the rescue team took the injured to a nearby hospital. Around 40 passengers, who were carried in the bus at the time of the accident, were heading towards Sainj until they fell near Jangla village at around 8:30 am.
