Assam: 7 killed, 11 critically injured in road mishap at Bordirak in Kakopathar

In a tragic road accident, as many as 7 persons died on the spot and another 11 were critically injured at Bordirak in Kakopathar under the Tinsukia district on Tuesday night after a Tata Magic vehicle in which they were travelling had a head-on-collision with a truck.

TINSUKIA: In a tragic road accident, as many as 7 persons died on the spot and another 11 were critically injured at Bordirak in Kakopathar under the Tinsukia district on Tuesday night after a Tata Magic vehicle in which they were travelling had a head-on-collision with a truck.

According to reports, the ill-fated vehicle bearing number AS23CC8930 was carrying several passengers who were mostly vegetable vendors returning home after selling their goods from Doomdooma. At Bordirak turning, a truck from Arunanchal Pradesh, bearing registration number AR 20A 1093, rammed into the vehicle in high speed.

The driver of the truck was confirmed by police to be in an inebriated condition and was arrested. The deceased were identified as Polen Moran(50) of Kailashpur, Kamal Moran of Bordumsa, Binita Baruah (52) of Bordumsa, Rina Gogoi (48) of Kaipashpur, Pallabi Rabha (29) of Kailashpur, Mohindar Neog of Kailashpur and Jadav Tairal (54) of Bordumsa. All the injured have been admitted to AMCH Dibrugarh in a critical condition.
