TANGLA: In an unfortunate turn of events, at least 8 persons were critically injured after a Maruti Van in which they were traveling crashed in the backside of a truck at Bhalukmari along NH-15 under Rowta PS in Udalguri district on Saturday morning. According to reports, the van was travelling from Orang towards Rowta side. The injured persons have been identified as Jeruminas Barak (52), Karmilla(62), Elizabeth Baruah(48), Silbanus Baik(52), Banis Ali (55), Lucia Kujur (55), Jeren Baruah (53), Kalambas Baruah (33). All of the injured are currently undergoing treatment at Tezpur Medical College and Hospital. The locals have exhorted Udalguri district administration to identify the accident prone zones and take precautionary measures to curb road mishaps which have been frequently reported from the Rowta-Orang route along the NH-15 stretch.
