TINSUKIA : The 8th Ayurveda Day was observed at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Tinsukia to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dhanvantari-the Hindu God of Medicine on Friday. The KVK organized a workshop with 50 women participants in which the Ayurvedic Doctor Dr Afzal Md. Qureshi from Patanjali and Vikash Jalan, a renowned promoter of Ayurveda in Tinsukia district addressed the gathering.
Both the speakers emphasized on the enhancement of trust and credibility in Ayurveda and suggested to promote awareness of Ayurveda through community engagement. Earlier Augustya Ch Barbora, Farm Manager of KVK of Tinsukia while welcoming the guests presented an introductory speech. The guests were felicitated with a Phoolam Gamusa by Mrinmoy Chetia, Sr. Scientist & Head, KVK, Tinsukia. A lively discussion between the participants and the Ayurvedic Specialists made the event fruitful while Dr.Qureshi attended to all the health related queries put forth by the participants. The event was concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Gautomi Dutta, Programme Assistant (Veterinary) KVK of Tinsukia.
DHUBRI: Ayurveda Day and Dhanwantari Jayanti were jointly observed by Ayurvedic Medical Organisation (AMO) in collaboration and Rhino research Product, Dhubri at Lions Club auditorium with a view to create an awareness on ayurveda way of traditional treatment of all ailments on Saturday. Ayurveda awareness meeting was organised on this occasion presided over by Dr. Mrinal Kanti Adhikari.
Speaking in the meeting, Dhubri Joint Director of Health Services, Dr. J.B.Roy spoke at a length on the values of home made and ancient ayurvedic medicines and its treatment in this part of world, which is still being practised by people.
“We should not ignore or neglect our traditional way of treatment, which are based on the science and now gaining popularity in the western world due its effectiveness without side affects,” Dr. Roy said.
Ayurvedic physicians Arup Choudhury and Dr. Hemant Kumar Nath also spoke in-depth on the occasion, highlighting the many advantages of ayurvedic medicines and emphasising the urgent need for an Ayurved Medical College in this region of western Assam in order to reach out to the general public and provide health care services.
