Assam: Additional Chief Secretary Dr Ashish Kumar Bhutani, visits Biswanath

Dr Ashish Kumar Bhutani, Additional Chief Secretary and Commissioner of Agricultural Produce, Government of Assam, visited the Pabhoi Greens Seed Farm in Biswanath district on Wednesday.

BISWANATH CHARIALI: Dr Ashish Kumar Bhutani, Additional Chief Secretary and Commissioner of Agricultural Produce, Government of Assam, visited the Pabhoi Greens Seed Farm in Biswanath district on Wednesday. Dr Bhutani, after visiting the fields of several varieties of rice and vegetables, took stock of the present situation and discussed what measures can be taken to further improve the seed farm owned by Nilam Dutta, a well-established and internationally renowned farmer from Pabhoi village under Pabhoi Agricultural Development Circle.

The Additional Chief Secretary and Commissioner was accompanied by Bipul Das, Managing Director, Assam Seed Corporation Limited, Dr R P Singh of SEED Vertical, Mausam Hazarika, Director, Assam Seeds and Organic Certification Agency, Lakshmi Dutta, Assistant Director, Agriculture and Horticulture Department, Priyanka Hazarika, Administrative Officer, Assam Seed Corporation Limited, Baljit Singh, Market Analyst Officer of ARIAS Society, Seed Coordinators Priyanka Das and Miro Doley. A delegation from Biswanath district agriculture department was also present during the tour.

The top official also participated in the ‘Live Webcast’ programme of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to present 15th instalment of the scheme through a “direct bank transfer process” to the eligible beneficiaries of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme by pressing the button from Khunti in Jharkhand. The ‘Live Webcast’ programme held at the office of the District Commissioner of Biswanath was attended by District Commissioner Dr Neha Yadav, Additional District Commissioner Dhruva Jyoti Das (Agriculture), District Agriculture Officer Baneshwar Bey, Biswanath Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer Pradeep Talukdar and various officials and employees of the District Agriculture Department. On the other hand, a large number of farmers took part in the Live Webcast programmes held at Kharaiparia Panchayat and Pabhoi Rupjyoti Kala Parishad Building.
