JAMUGURIHAT: The biennial conference of Akhara, a leading dramatic organization of the greater Jamugurihat area, was held today at the office premises of the organisation located in Jamugurihat, with Ranjan Kumar Das, president of the organisation, in the chair.
Bipul Bora read out the annual proceeding of the general secretary while Mridul Hazarika presented the audit report. At the end of the meeting, a new committee was constituted, with Subrat Barua as president, Ranjit Borthakur as vice president, Bipul Bora as secretary, and Mridul Hazarika and Manoj Phukan as assistant secretaries, along with eleven executive members.
It is to be mentioned here that the dramatic organisation Akhara was founded in 1992 and has attained a glorious 31 years of inception. The role of Akhara in bringing dramatic activities to the greater Jamugurihat is praiseworthy.
