Assam: Amrit Briksha Andolan

As an additional entity to the state wide Amrit Briksha Andolan and aiming to revive tree-based economy, the Tinsukia district is heading to set a place in Guinness Book of Records by planting 3-3.5 lakh tree sapling in 1 hectare of land at Ulup Pathar under Enthem GP of Margherita subdivision on September 16, a day ahead of state launching programme.

TINSUKIA : As an additional entity to the state wide Amrit Briksha Andolan and aiming to revive tree-based economy, the Tinsukia district is heading to set a place in Guinness Book of Records by planting 3-3.5 lakh tree sapling in 1 hectare of land at Ulup Pathar under Enthem GP of Margherita subdivision on September 16, a day ahead of state launching programme.

Addressing the media persons on Tuesday, the District Commissioner of Tinsukia Swapneel Paul said that in a bid to create a record, the Tinsukia district administration is heading to establish the Largest Mosaic Sapling Map in Assam in 1st phase while the district is also fulfilling the target of 4 lakh saplings which will be simultaneously launched along with rest of Assam in 85 GPs in the district having 10 stocking points with participation of all stakeholders like villagers, SHGs, public, educational institutions etc, said Paul. He also released a teaser video highlighting the proposed mosaic sapling map at Ulup. The DFO Digboi TC Ranjith Ram also elaborated the types of timber-based saplings selected for the plantation.
