Assam: Ankiya Naat Samaroh inaugurated

MORIGAON: The first-ever Ankiya Nat Samarooh as well as the silver jubilee celebration of Sisu, Yuba and Matri Samaroh of the Srimanta Sankardev Sangha, Morigaon district committee kicked off on Friday at the Atul Chandra Deka’s Samannya Khetra, Morigaon Sadar Bihutoli. was inaugurated by the District Commissioner of Morigaon. While inaugurating the programme, District Commissioner Devashis Sarma said that Srimanta Sankardev had tried to bind the society together irrespective of caste, creed and religion. He paved the way for the formation of a greater Assamese nation by uniting different castes, creeds, and religions. He added, “Srimanta Sankardev had started a new chapter of unity by spreading streams of devotion through culture like Ankiya Nat, bhaona etc.”

Earlier, the Ankiya Nat Samarooh began with the unfurling of the organization’s flag by Atul Chandra Das, president of the district committee of Srimanta Sankardev Sangha. The meeting was attended by the chairman of MMB, Jogesh Tamuly, Morigaon district advisors of Srimanta Sankardev Sangha, Dr Puniram Patar and Pradeep Kumar Bora, and others. The three-day Ankiya Nat Samarooh will conclude on October 29.
