Assam: Annual meet of Sootea No. 2 Cooperative Society held

JAMUGURIHAT: The annual meeting of Sootea No. 2 Cooperative Society was held on Friday at the conference hall of the cooperative society under Binoy Saikia, president of Sootea No. 2 Cooperative Society. The annual meeting was attended by Sanjiv Kumar Goswami, senior inspector of cooperative societies in Sonitpur district, as an observer.

Rupanjal Borkakaty, secretary of the Cooperative Society, read out the government audit report along with his annual proceedings. During his report, he said that the Cooperative Society had earned a total of Rs 10,18591 in the financial year 2022–23. Besides, a total of Rs 5979282 has been in a bank account of the Cooperative Society, while a sum of Rs 13 lakh has to be credited into the account of the Cooperative Society by the state government.

Along with the daily routine work of the cooperative society, the Sootea No. 2 cooperative society has been involved in shouldering social responsibilities many times. This year, the society planted nearly 300 saplings of local varieties on its premises. The annual meeting adopted a resolution to open a grocery shop at Sootea Commercial Centre in 2024.
