Assam: Anundoram Borooah Award distributed

Along with other parts of the State, the Cachar district administration on Wednesday successfully organized the Anundoram Borooah Award. Altogether 1,090 students who had passed the HSLC this year scoring 75 per cent or more were given the awards.

SILCHAR: Along with other parts of the State, the Cachar district administration on Wednesday successfully organized the Anundoram Borooah Award. Altogether 1,090 students who had passed the HSLC this year scoring 75 per cent or more were given the awards. An amount of Rs 15 thousand was handed over to the students as awards. Lakhipur MLA Kausik Rai, Udharbond MLA Mihir Kanti Shome handed over the awards to the students. They said that it was the unique idea of the Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to accord awards to the meritorious students for further flourishing of their talents in the academic field. The present BJP government in the State had put utmost stress on the education sector to take Assam to more advancement and development, they said. The function was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner Rohan Kumar Jha.

TINSUKIA: The Anundoram Borooah Award was presented to 575 meritorious students of Tinsukia district who secured 75 % and above in last HSLC examinations on Wednesday at the auditorium of Tinsukia Development Authority Cultural Complex in presence of distinguish gathering. Prof Dr Nanigopal Mahanta Education Advisor to the Government of Assam was present as chief guest.

HAFLONG: Chief Executive Member of DHAC Debolal Gorlosa ceremonially distributed cheques to the HSLC students who excelled in High School Leaving Certificate ( HSLC) examination 2023 securing 75% or above under Anundoram Borooah Award 2023-24 , at District Library Auditorium Hall Haflong on Wednesday. A total of 222 students received a cash amount of Rs. 15,000 each under this award.

Chief guest of the programme, CEM Debolal Gorlosa motivated all the students to dream big and have a self believe in themselves. He also highlighted the importance of knowing the life of Anundoram Borooah. A welcome speech was delivered by District Commissioner Simanta Kr. Das. The programme ended with a vote of thanks and singing of the National Anthem.

Others present during the programme were Chairperson Ranu Langthasa, Executive Members Bijit Langthasa, Lalremsiama Darnei, SP Dima Hasao, Mayank Kumar IPS, Principal Secretaries of DHAC, Dist Planning Board Vice President Donphainon Thaosen and other dignitaries.
