Assam: Arms smugglers apprehended

On the eve of 77th Independence Day, Gajraj Intelligencers of Indian Army camped at Rangia apprehended two arm smugglers acting on a tip off from Kalgachia with the help of Kalgachia police on Sunday night.

RANGIA: On the eve of 77th Independence Day, Gajraj Intelligencers of Indian Army camped at Rangia apprehended two arm smugglers acting on a tip off from Kalgachia with the help of Kalgachia police on Sunday night. According to the army, the arms smugglers were identified as Abdul Rashid (40) of No 2 Rubhi village under Kalgachia Police Station in Barpeta district and Pandit Ali (30) S/o Md Meser Ali of Rasulpur village under Kalgachia Police Station in Barpeta district. One 7.62 mm pistol and one loaded magazine were recovered from the location during the search operation.
