DHUBRI: Resentment prevails among the guardians of students following seizure of heroin right from the gate of the prestigious BN College of Dhubri a couple of days ago. Two drug peddlers were arrested during operation led by Kapil Chandra Das, who reportedly acted on specific information and swung into action. The two drug peddlers, identified as Hamidur Rahman hailing from Gauripur Beguntali, and Saiful Islam from College Nagar Dhubri, were caught red-handed during the operation. The police recovered approximately 5.33 grams of heroin and a sum of Rs 34,900 from the possession of the duo.
Conscious guardians of the students as well common people have expressed their concern and resented over the security of the college students. “If drug peddlers can operate right in front of the college gate then anything can happen to the students. The college administration should take this issue seriously and proper steps must be initiated at the earliest as the future of the students are at stake,” the guardians said.
