GUWAHATI: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has its sights set on Assam ahead of the panchayat elections, after their wins the national capital and Punjab.
Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, and Bhagwant Mann, the Chief Minister of Punjab, are scheduled to travel to Guwahati on April 2 to speak at a large gathering. According to AAP, before the state's upcoming rural elections later this year and the 2024 Lok Sabha election, the leaders want to significantly strengthen the party organization.
AAP has committees in each of the state's 31 districts, having grown from a minor influence in the state. According to Rajesh Sharma, the AAP's NE in-charge, Kejriwal and Mann ji would be in Guwahati on Sunday.
AAP is attempting to take root in Assam and the Northeast by taking advantage of weak opposition. In this regard, the regional office of the party has invited Arvind Kejriwal, its leader, and Bhagwant Mann, the chief minister of Punjab, to pay a visit.
AAP is attempting to entrench itself in the position despite the lack of significant opposition in the area. A press release stated that, the AAP is the only party capable of giving the next generation access to facilities on par with the best in the world and elevating India to the top rank in these categories due to its revolutionary advances in Delhi's health and education sectors.
In addition, the party has urged those who wish to improve education for the benefit of the next generation to support it and show up in large numbers on April 2, when the party's leadership will be in Guwahati.
AAP has pledged that during these difficult times, the party will stand behind the populace and criticize the administration. Under the direction of AAP State Coordinator Dr. Bhaben Choudhury and North East Supervisor Rajesh Sharma, the aforementioned claims were made in a news release.
