Assam Assembly Elections 2021: Polling peaceful in Tinsukia district

In the first phase of Assembly polls, the turnout of voters in 5 LACs - 122 Tinsukia, 123 Digboi, 124 Margherita, 125 Doomdooma and 126 Sadiya- in Tinsukia district was around 72 per cent.

TINSUKIA, DOOMDOOMA: In the first phase of Assembly polls, the turnout of voters in 5 LACs - 122 Tinsukia, 123 Digboi, 124 Margherita, 125 Doomdooma and 126 Sadiya- in Tinsukia district was around 72 per cent. At close, the LAC-wise estimated per cent of polling was- 122 Tinsukia-73 per cent, 123 Digboi-74 per cent, 124 Margherita-77.8 per cent, 125 Doomdooma-74 per cent and 126 Sadiya- 75 per cent.

According to Diganta Saikia, the Deputy Commissioner of Tinsukia, the voting was peaceful and there was no report of any disruption in polling or violence from any part in the district.

In Doomdooma, because of technical snag in a few polling stations, polling was hampered. But it was immediately repaired by the polling personnel on duty.
