Assam assembly elections: Training for booth-level officers held in Kokrajhar

In view of the forthcoming Assam legislative assembly elections, 2021 election branch Kokrajhar district organized the first phase of training for the booth-level officers (BLOs) at Basic Training Centre, Kokrajhar.

KOKRAJHAR: In view of the forthcoming Assam legislative assembly elections, 2021 election branch Kokrajhar district organized the first phase of training for the booth-level officers (BLOs) at Basic Training Centre, Kokrajhar.

Inaugurating the training, Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner and DEO emphasized the important role of the BLOs in sensitization of the voters, ensuring health of polling stations, and ensuring that 'no voter is left behind'. He insisted that all had to ensure maintenance of COVID protocol at each and every stage and activity of election. While ensuring that no voter was left behind, the DC instructed that the time purview of postal ballot had been extended to three more groups of voters such as PWD, 80+ years and COVID suspected or infected persons.

During the training, form 12D was distributed among the BLOs for the purpose. Before the start of the event, the halls of the training were sanitized and participants were thermo scanned. Sufficient hand sanitizers and face masks were provided to all present. Total 227 BLOs were trained in two halls by five master trainers.
