Assam: Auditorium, library inaugurated by Prasanta Barkakati, former CRE of OIL

DOOMDOOMA: One auditorium at Hoonlal HS School and one library room along with girls’ toilet and drinking water project at Doomdooma Girls’ HS School constructed under Oil India Limited (OIL)’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) scheme, were inaugurated by Prasanta Barkakati, former Chief Resident Executive (CRE) of OIL on Tuesday.

At Hoonlal HS School, former CRE of OIL Prasanta Barkakati inaugurated the newly-constructed auditorium building in the morning. Thereafter, the inaugural function was held under the presidentship of Principal Alip Khan. Upamanyu Gogoi, Chief Manager, Public Affairs Department(PAD), OIL lit the ceremonial lamp. In his speech CRE Prasanta Barkakati who is also an alumni of the school expressed the hope that the auditorium would be properly utilised by the school authority. The meeting was also attended by MLA Rupesh Gowala and Senior manager Mrinmoy Buragohain besides host of other dignitaries of the town. Principal Alip Khan thanked OIL profusely for fulfilling a longfelt need of the school.

On the other hand former CRE, OIL Prasanta Barkakati inaugurated the library room, girls’ toilet and drinking water project of the school constructed under OIL’s CSR scheme. In the beginning Principal Sangeeta Barkakati explained the objectives of the meeting while Abhijit Khatniar, President, School Management and development committee (SMDC) welcomed the guests. The meeting was attended by Arjun Baruah, Monoj Dutta, both former Presidents SMDC - former Headmasters and leading citizens of the town and was addressed by Arjun Baruah, Manoj Dutta, Journalist Dhiren Deka and leading social worker Gobinda Phookan. The meeting was anchored by Daisy Talukdar.
