Assam: Awareness Event Organised for Amrit Brikshya Andolan

HATSINGIMARI: An awareness campaign was undertaken regarding the upcoming Amrit Brikshya Andolan in the Kekamari locality of the South Salmara Mankachar District of the state.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced this initiative recently to increase the green cover in the region. As a part of the initiative, the state government attempts to plant a total of 1 crore saplings on September 17.

The officials from the agriculture department of the district undertook an awareness campaign for the project. The experts present for the campaign explained to the public the aims of the initiative, it was also explained as to the whole process. They also explained the registration process and how to upload photographs after the completion of the plantation. More than 50 people registered themselves on the mobile app for participating in the campaign.

The officials also called on the public to participate wholeheartedly in the project and help the protection of nature through their efforts.

Previously, a meeting was organised in the DC office of Kamrup (M) district of Assam to take stock of the preparations for the Amrit Brikhya Andolan. Under this project, the state government aims to plant a total of 1 crore saplings across the state. Representatives of multiple departments and several educational institutions took part in this meeting. The dignitaries discussed the number of saplings to be distributed and the distribution process for the same. Several key officials of the DC office were also present for this discussion to ensure the smooth conduct of the plantation drive on September 17.

The 'Amrit Brikshya Andolan' holds the promise of a greener future for Assam. By strategically planting 1 crore commercial saplings, the state will witness a significant increase in biodiversity, fostering a healthier ecosystem for its flora and fauna. This initiative aligns with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, which has been driving the nation towards progress and sustainability.
