BISWANATH CHARIALI: The Biswanath District Committee of Indian National Congress held a protest at Biswanath Chariali on Monday over the alleged failure of the State government to check price rise in the State. The protesters took out a rally from Rajiv Bhawan, here shouting slogans against the government.
However, the police tried to stop the protesters following which they engaged in a scuffle. The protesters later submitted a memorandum through the Additional District Commissioner. State Congress spokesperson Apurba Bhattacharya, District Congress President Dilip Kumar Baruah and others participated in the protest.
