DHUBRI: A 10-day training of 500 cadets by 7 Assam Bn NCC got underway in Gauripur at PC Institute from July 20. A source in NCC informed that the events which are being organised and would be held all through the 10-day along with the training include lecture on POSCO, plantation of 600 seedlings, arms display by BSF and Army, demo to control riots by CRPF, visit to Rupsi Airport, cultural competition, fire fighting demo.
Talking to The Sentinel, Commanding Officer of 7 Assam Bn NCC, Col Neeraj Trivedi informed that besides these, four rallies would be taken out on drug abuse, environmental pollution, Swachh Bharat and Beti Padao — Beti Bachao during the training days.
"In order to imbibe the intuition of social services among the cadets, a blood donation camp and a lecture on stress management will also be delivered by the teacher from Art of Living Foundation while a separate lecture session will be held on the recruitment policy in the Indian Army," Col Trivedi further informed.
