Assam: Books to prepare for competitive exams distributed by Dhubri DC

Books were distributed among the students of Bholanath College, Dhubri, to prepare for the UPSC and other civil service examinations, by Dhubri District Commissioner Dibakar Nath in the digital classroom of the college recently.

DHUBRI: Books were distributed among the students of Bholanath College, Dhubri, to prepare for the UPSC and other civil service examinations, by Dhubri District Commissioner Dibakar Nath in the digital classroom of the college recently.

Nearly 90 students who had attended the career counselling and orientation programme organized by Dr Pannalal Oswal Memorial Committee, in collaboration with Bholanath College, Dhubri, and the Dhubri district administration on August 9, received the books.

Speaking on the occasion, Dhubri District Commissioner Dibakar Nath called upon the students to prepare the basic and important topics of UPSC and other civil service examinations from two books - Indian Polity by M Laxmikanth and A Brief History of Modern India by Rajiv Ahir, IPS.

“These two books I had promised to deliver to you during the counselling and orientation programme held last month here. So now prepare yourselves for an examination to be held tentatively in January, 2024. This examination is only to evaluate how you are preparing for the preliminary examination of UPSC and other civil service examinations,” Nath added. Nath this time also promised to arrange a trip to the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) for the students who would secure 90 and above marks in that examination.

In his inaugural speech, principal of Bholanath College, Dr Dhruba Chakrabortty expressed his heartiest thanks and gratitude to Dhubri District Commissioner Dibakar Nath and the Dr Pannalal Oswal Memorial Committee for their unflinching support and cooperation in a bid to build an environment for aspirants of the UPSC and other civil service examinations. Dhubri Assistant Commissioner, Mridul Shivhare, an IAS on probation, also interacted with students and replied to many queries raised by them.
