TINSUKIA: The Tinsukia District Congress Committee (TDCC) reacted sharply over the proposed Tinsukia developmental schemes announced by the Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma in the Cabinet meeting held at Tinsukia on Friday. In a statement to the press, Pranab Baruah president of TDCC and APCC spokesperson Mousum Baruah stated that the late Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi’s schemes like Tinsukia Medical College, Makum Polytechnic, Tinsukia Urban Water Supply Scheme, Master Drain Scheme, Tinsukia City Road Development, Street Lights etc have not been completed, yet on Friday the Chief Minister again announced surge of new schemes likely to be completed by 2026 and by which one can imagine the goodwill of the government, the release stated.

Contrary to all these announcements, the CM made no statement for new university, women’s college, development of Dibru-Saikhowa National Park, conservation of Maguri Beel, conservation of Dihing Patkai National Park destroyed by coal mafia, small tea growers, much coveted plastic park and unemployment, the statement said adding that with such announcements, the Chief Minister is misleading the common people by flooding them with new schemes.
