Assam: Central Bureau of Communication, Regional office, Guwahati organises a Photo expo & awareness programme

The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Regional office, Guwahati organised a two-day long photo exhibition and awareness programme at Jagiroad College, Morigaon on Wednesday.

MORIGAON: The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Regional office, Guwahati organised a two-day long photo exhibition and awareness programme at Jagiroad College, Morigaon on Wednesday. The exhibition aims at creating awareness among the youth about the sacrifices of the freedom fighters of the nation and the schemes and initiatives of the government in the last 9 years. The exhibition displayed more than 40 panels on freedom fighters of North East and 9 years of Seva, Sushasan and Garib Kalyan.

Inaugurating the exhibition, chief guest Dr.Bhaben Chandra Neog, Principal, Jagiroad College, said, “If we know about our past, our rich tradition, heritage and cultural diversity, we can step towards the future with confidence. I thank our PM Narendra Modi for this initiative on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, through which we have learnt about the unsung heroes of the nation.”

Speaking on the importance of cyber-security and addressing the students, Samiran Baishya, Additional Superintendent of Police, Morigaon police said, “Cyber-crime is dangerously prevalent in our society nowadays. All of us knowingly or unknowingly sometimes fall into the trap of cyber-crime. Especially, the student community should be aware of such crimes and stay cautious about the things they share in social media.”

Dr Khagen Sharma, Principal, Jagiroad Satriya Sangeet Vidyalaya & Retd. Professor, Jagiroad College, Dr.Puniram Patar, president of governing body, Jagiroad College, eminent social worker of Jagiroad Prabin Kumar Deka, president of Jagiroad Development Commitee Dibyajit Neog along with the faculty of Jagiroad College were present in the inaugural ceremony. Hiramani Das, Field Exhibition Officer, CBC, delivered the welcome address in the event.

More than 600 students from Jagiroad College, Morigaon participated in the programme. The departmental artistes of CBC, Guwahati performed an array of cultural programme on this occasion.

The two-day exhibition will organize various competitions including open quiz, art competition, patriotic dance competition etc. among students, stated a press release.
