Assam Chhah Mazdoor Sangha observed May Day in Dhekiajuli

Labour Day or International Workers’ Day is observed each year on the first day of May to celebrate the achievements of the working classes. It is popularly observed internationally as May Day.

DHEKIAJULI: Labour Day or International Workers' Day is observed each year on the first day of May to celebrate the achievements of the working classes. It is popularly observed internationally as May Day.

On Saturday, the Assam Chhah Mazdoor Sangha (ACMC) Borsola branch observed the day at its 37 tea estates under Borsola branch while strictly maintaining COVID protocol. This year the ACMS did not observe May Day at its main office campuses of Borsola branch due to the pandemic. The dispute secretary of ACMS Borsola Branch, Aniruddhya Tanti said that due to the current COVID situation, the central committee leaders of ACMS decided to observe this year's May Day in the different tea estates of Assam with the ACMS local committee members.

On the other hand, Bhima Nanda Tanti, the secretary of ACMS Borsola branch, said that the tea Garden ACMS body members had been instructed to observe the day by strict maintaining COVID protocol. As per the ACMS instruction, all the 37 tea gardens under Borsola branch observed May Day in a simple manner.
