Assam Chief Election Officer Khade Visits Strong Room in Guwahati

CEO Khade inspects security arrangements at the strong room. Requests all to follow all COVID protocol

Guwahati: Chief Election Officer of Assam Election Commission, Nitin Khade visited the strong room at Maniram Dewan Trade, Guwahati. He took stock of the security arrangements at the strong room that is catering for EVMs of 4 Assembly constituencies of the recently concluded Assam Assembly elections. Counting would take place on May 2, Sunday.

Khade checked the visitors' logbook in the strong room. He signed the register and expressed satisfaction at the three-layered security arrangements made at the strong room. He directed the officials to ensure that every COVID protocol is followed in the strong room.

Khade was accompanied by Assam Election Commission Deputy CEO Pulak Patgiri and Kamrup (M) District Commissioner Biswajit Pegu.

Elections for the 126-seat Assam Assembly were held in 3 phases on March 27, April 1, and April 6. A total of 946 candidates' fate would be decided on May 2. The term of the Sarbananda Sonowal-led BJP government would end on May 24.
