Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurates Jagiroad Police Station

A renovated building under the MOITRI scheme was inaugurated by the CM in Morigaon

Morigaon: Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurated a renovated Police Station at Jagiroad.

The building has been renovated under the MOITRI scheme that envisages to upgrade and improve police stations across Assam.

On the occasion, Sarbananda Sonowal also released a book by N. Singh Borkola, SP of Morigaon.

Under the MOITRI mission the Assam government plans to provide overall improvement of the police stations, creating people-friendly environment with a modern scientific human approach.

As many as 346 police stations would be covered under the scheme for which Rs 125 crore has been earmarked. So far, 73 police stations have been shortlisted to be made more citizen-friendly in the first phase of the Mission of Overall Improvement of Thana for Responsive Image (Moitri) scheme. The scheme was launched in 2018.
