KOKRAJHAR: Central Institute of Technology (CIT)- Kokrajhar, a hub for technological innovation and academic excellence, concluded its annual tech fest, Techcracy-2023 which was held on November 23 to November 24. The event not only showcased the prowess of the students but also brought technology, creativity, and talent together, attracting participants from various schools and colleges.
The two-day extravaganza featured an array of events, from departmental exhibitions and panel discussions to talks and competitive activities such as gaming, coding, singing, dancing, robotics, extemporaneous speech, photography, art and craft, debate and sports. Tech enthusiasts from across the region enthusiastically participated, pushing the boundaries of innovation.
Distinguished guests from various fields added an extra layer of expertise and real-world insights to the event. PLN Raju, Director of Assam State Space Application Centre & Special Secretary to Government of Assam (Science Tech & Climate Change dept.), Dr. Bipur Roy and his team from NIELIT, Paresh Mathur (AGM) from NTPC, Dhurpad Das from Web3Assam, and Gunajit Brahma, Co-founder of Farm easy, delivered insightful talks and engaged in interactive sessions with the students. The evening cultural programmes were a delightful blend of technology and entertainment, showcasing the diverse talents of the participants.
During the closing ceremony, Dr. Pranav Kumar Singh, Dean AER interacted with media persons and expressed his gratitude to the Director of CIT-Kokrajhar, Prof. A. Srinivasan, convenor Dr. Sahlad, faculty and staff members, and the dedicated student team whose relentless efforts played a pivotal role in making Techcracy-2023 a grand success. He also briefed about the 12 technical clubs he has initiated and is running with the support of faculty mentors and student coordinators. These clubs include AI, GDSC, Coding, CyberXSecure, EDC, DevCom, Automation, VLSI, among others. These clubs play a crucial role in equipping students with industry-ready skills, fostering an environment of hands-on learning.
Furthermore, Dr. Singh shared his plans to extend the impact of these clubs by collaborating with colleges and schools in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) in association with the BTC government. This initiative aims to bring the benefits of these technical clubs to a broader audience, contributing to the overall development of technical and science skills in the region.
