Assam: Cloth bank for the needy in Nalbari

NALBARI: “When there is a will there is a way”- a group of women called warriors have proved this proverb with their immensely generous works in the district. Recently, the group established a cloth bank for the needy under the leadership of Manju Baishya, Himadri Rajbongshi and many others. They have been distributing old but usable clothes to many poor people in different parts of the district who are living a difficult life without clothes. Manju Baishya said they have distributed such clothes to a great number of poor people in the district so far. They have been collecting such useful clothes from various people and distributing them to the poor people. They have been providing the service for many years. They said that they came up with the plan as the members of a voluntary organization and started the work with the initiative of the voluntary organisation. People in the district are happy with their works. Dr Binoy Kumar Mazumdar, the Principal of Sankardev Academy praised such works and promised a help to the organisation. People came up to help the organisation and donated many clothes. The members of the organization are happy at the responses of people. Manju Baishya said that such different initiatives will be frequently adopted by the group in near future.
