Assam CM Directs Officials To Set Up Check-Points On Assam-Arunachal Pradesh Border

Guwahati: In order to check the illegal entry of liquor made from the neighbouring state, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, on Tuesday directed the concerned officials to set up temporary checkpoints along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border.

He directed the officials during a review meeting on a range of issues with senior officials of the excise department.

The Assam CM also asked the senior officials to fill up vacancies in grade-3 and grade-4 categories, so that the department functions with full capacity and efficiency.

''In a meeting with Excise Dept officials in presence of Cabinet colleague Shri @ParimalSuklaba1, asked them to check illegal entry of liquor through the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border. Also directed the Dept to function with full transparency and fill up its Grade III & IV vacancies,'' Sarma tweeted.

Sarma further assured them of all assistance from the government in mitigating their genuine grievances related to work and duties.
