TANGLA: While receiving dozens of memoranda submitted by various organisations here at the Borengajuli Xatra in Dimakuchi of Udalguri district on Sunday, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma also received a memorandum on a project for Bhairabkunda tourism submitted by the Public Interest, a social organisation of Udalguri district and assured the delegation of needful action in this regard.
The proposed project of the Public Interest suggested the State government to promote the rural tourism in the Bhairabkunda in Udalguri district which is a trijunction juncture of Assam Arunachal Pradesh and Bhutan. The memorandum urged the Chief Minister to take a pilot project of cable car service similar to Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Sikkim in between Bhairabkunda of Udalguri, Kalaktang in West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh and Dzomotsangkha in East Bhutan near Bhairabkunda to attract tourists from other parts of India and abroad.” If the project receives thrust, it would give opportunities to the unemployed educated youths of the district for self employment,” said Rewati Raman Sapkota of Public Interest.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also assured the delegation of Kalibari Sewa Samiti of Udalguri town to look into the problem faced by it due to the eviction order of the NF Railway and directed the Udalguri Deputy Commissioner for necessary action to solve the problem.
