Assam: CM Launches Jio True 5G Services In The State

GUWAHATI: While bringing constant development in the state, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma launched Jio True 5G services in Assam on Tuesday. Apart from that, True 5G Powered Wifi has been established at the Maa Kamakhya Temple Complex. 

Sarma is of the view that, True 5G has the ability to equalise the healthcare framework across several regions in Assam. The CM assured speedy launch of the 5G services in the entire state. 

Jio is investing another Rs 2,500 crores to provide True 5G services in the state. An amount of Rs 9,500 crore has already been invested for the same. By the end of this year, in 2023 December, every individual from all corners of the state will be able to enjoy the Jio True 5G services.

Jio customers in Guwahati including seven other states - Karnataka, Kerela, Telangana and Maharashtra will be given access to the Jio Welcome Offer. This offer will provide the existing customers with Unlimited data at 1 Gbps + speed at zero cost. 

Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Jio Infocomm is the first ever telco to bring in 5G specific plan. With this, Jio has opened up its 5G welcome offer to all users in 85 cities that it has introduced the service till date, including 10 more cities in its coverage on Monday. 

The newly added cities include- Meerut, Kanpur, Thrissur, Ahmednagar, Nagpur, Agra, Kozhikode and Prayagraj. Until now, only users on the 239 and above base packs and having a 5G enabled device were fit to use the welcome offer.
