Assam CM reviews implementation of Batadrava Than cultural project in Nagaon

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma reviewed the implementation of the project for development of Batadrava Than as cultural and tourism destination in a meeting with officials of Public Works Department held at Batadrava in Nagaon district today.

NAGAON: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma reviewed the implementation of the project for development of Batadrava Than as cultural and tourism destination in a meeting with officials of Public Works Department held at Batadrava in Nagaon district today.

The Chief Minister after examining the initial progress of the project directed the PWD officials to ensure its completion in a speedy and timely manner. He also instructed Nagaon Deputy Commissioner to entrust one Additional Deputy Commissioner to oversee the implementation process on daily basis.

Noteworthy that the Assam government has taken up the Batadrava Than beautification project with a cost of Rs. 188 crore covering an area of 165 bigha. Union Home Minister Amit Shah laid foundation of the project on February 25 this year.

Health Minister Keshab Mahanta, Batadrava MLA Shivamoni Bora, Nagaon MLA RupakSarma, Barhampur MLA Jitu Goswami, DC Kavitha Padmanabhan, SP Anand Mishra, Chief Engineer and other senior engineers of PWD, former MLA Angoorlata Deka and satradhikar of Sri Sri Narowa Satra Devananda Deva Goswami, satradhikar of Sri Sri Salaguri Satra Jogendra Narayan Deva Goswami, office bearers of Sri Sri Batadrava Than Managing Committee and senior officials of the district administration were present in the meeting.
