Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal turns 59, Fmr Assam CM Tarun Gogoi, HM Amit Shah, Def Min Rajnath Singh send in wishes

Union ministers Smriti Irani, Kiren Rijiju, BJP National President J P Nadda and Chief Ministers of the north eastern states also sent in their wishes

Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal turned 59 today on October 31.Wishes continued to flood in from all quarters.

Former Assam Chief Minister and veteran Congress leader Tarun Gogoi wrote , "I convey my best wishes and congratulations to Chief Minister of Assam on the occasion of his birthday today. May God grant him good health and long life to serve the people of Assam."

Sonowal responded by thanking the senior leader for his good wishes.


Fellow senior cabinet colleague and party member Finance, Health, Education and PWD Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma wished good health and happiness for the CM.

"Greetings and warm wishes to Assam CM @sarbanandasonwal Ji on his birthday . He has made a mark as a young and dynamic leader who is wholeheartedly dedicated to the development of the state and welfare of its people. May he be blessed with long life and good health," Defence Minister Rajnath Singh wrote.

Union Cabinet Minister for Textiles and Women & Child Development Smriti Irani wrote,"Greetings to Assam CM@sarbanandsonwalji on his birthday. May the state of Assam continue to flourish under his leadership.

BJP National Prasident JP Nadda also wished CM Sonowal.

Wishes also poured in from Chief Ministers of North East.

Mizoram CM Zoramthanga wished CM Sonwal and wrote in his tweet, "Happy Birthday Sri @sarbanandasonwal Ji .Heartfelt greetings from the people of #Mizoram Let this special day ease up unnecessary tension and conflict at the #AssamMizoram boarder for the plight of our people on the both side."

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu also took to twitter to send in his best wishes for CM Sonowal.
