Assam CM Sarbanandal Sonowal inaugurates Asom Darshan phase II

A total of 377 religious organizations will get Rs. 10 lakhs each for infrastructure development

Guwahati: Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal on Thursday inaugurated the 2nd phase of Asom Darshan scheme. Under the Asom Darshan scheme, a total of 377 religious organizations will get Rs. 10 lakhs each for infrastructure development.


The inauguration programme was held at Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra auditorium in Guwahati in the presence of Assam's Health and Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Water Resources and Archeology Minister Keshav Mahanta, among others.

As many as 915 such organizations received Rs. 10 lakhs each, in the 1st phase.


The total amount allocated to organizations under Asom Darshan scheme is Rs. 25 lakhs, out of which Rs. 10 lakhs will be provided initially and Rs. 15 lakhs will be provided later, to those organizations that utilize the initial fund properly.
