Assam CM Sarma Adopts Modi's Style of Governance, "Gujarat Model" for Govt Works, Attaches MLAs with Ministers

CM Sarma has declared that similar to Modi's previous methods of operation, each minister will be assisted by a group of four MLAs.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's much-touted "Gujarat Model" is likely to reverberate this time in the workings of the Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma-led administration. According to reports, the "Gujarat Model," or PM Modi's style of running the government while he was Chief Minister, gave the state a new lease of life.

Chief Minister Himanta biswa Sarma, who has stated that the primary objective of his administration is to make Assam one of the most developed states in the country, has embraced the Gujarat model in the running of his administration.

CM Sarma has declared that similar to Modi's previous methods of operation, each minister will be assisted by a group of four MLAs

The Chief Minister has appointed five MLAs to assist him in carrying out government duties: Ajay Kumar Ray, Jitu Goswami, Rupak Sarma, Biswajit Phukan, Dr. Nomal Momin, and Rupesh Goala.

Minister Ranjit Kumar Dass will be accompanied by four MLAs, namely Siddartha Bhattarachyya, Atul Bora, Padma Hazarika, and Ranjit Dutta. Minister Atul Bora will be supported by four MLAs: Nandita Garlosa, Phanibhushan Chaudhury, Bhupen Boro, and Vidyasing Englang.

Similarly, minister UG Brahma would be assisted by MLAs-Jaynata Basumatary, Bhaskar Sarma, Govinda Basumatary and Prithviraj Rabha. 

Ramendra Narayan Kalita, Hitendranath Goswami, Pradip Hazarika, and Bhabesh Kalita are the four MLAs who will assist Industry Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary.

Minister Parimal Sukla Vaidya, on the other hand, would be backed by a group of four MLAs—Mihirkranti Som, Pramod Borthakur, Ganesh Limbu, and Prashanta Phukan.

Dr. Paramanada Rajbanshi, Mrinal Saikia, Utpal Bora, and Ponakon Baruah are among the MLAs who support Health Minister Keshav Mahanta.

MLAs Taranga Gogoi, Balin Chetia, Dignata Kalita, and Manab Deka would provide assistance to Education Minister Ranoj Pegu.

Suman Haripriya, Ramakanta Deuri, Ramkrishna Ghosh, and Lorens Islari will assist Minister Ashok Singhal. 

Similarly, MLAs Dwipayan Chakravorty, Chakradhar Gogoi, Teras Goala, and Bhaben Bharali would help Minister Jogen Mohan.

Bhuban Pegu, Bindod Hazarika, Suren Phukan, and Rupsing Teron are among the MLAs who support Minister Sanjay Kishan.

Ajanta Neog, the finance minister, would be supported by MLAs Bijay Malakar, Kaushik Ray, Hemanga Thakuria, and Jayanta Barua.

Krishnendu Paul, Darsing Ranghang, Krishna Kamal Tanti, and Sibu Misra will assist Minister Pijyush Hazarika.

Dharmeswar Konwar, Amiyo Bhuyan, Nava Doley, and Renupoma Rajkhowa are among the MLAs who will assist Minister Bimal Bora.
