Assam CM's Durga Puja Wishes; Requests all to Abide by COVID Protocol

Sonowal acknowledged every citizen's contribution towards complying with the COVID-19 protocol so far and their contribution towards keeping the COVID-19 numbers under control so far in Assam.

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has extended his Saradia greetings and wished everyone a happy Durga Puja. He hoped that Maa Durga would ensure peace, prosperity, and good health for everyone and help build a much stronger society. The Chief Minister also reminded everyone to strictly adhere to the COVID-19 guidelines while celebrating puja and enjoying the festivities. He acknowledged every citizen's contribution towards complying with the COVID-19 protocol so far and their contribution towards keeping the COVID-19 numbers under control so far in Assam. He hoped that every citizen would continue to do so in the coming days as we get into the festive mood.

Earlier in the day, Sonowal inaugurated the Ganeshguri flyover as a puja gift to the people of Guwahati. The flyover is expected to ease the traffic congestion at the Ganeshguri point, one of the busy traffic junctions of the city. The flyover was completed within the promised time.

Meanwhile, the five-day celebrations began today with Maha Sasthi, the day when the idol of Goddess Durga is brought and placed at the altar. This year, the Durga Puja committees of Guwahati are strictly abiding by the COVID protocol.
