Assam: Cybercriminal Trio Held, Huge Quantity Of Unlawful Item Seized

The trio is currently going through a interrogation process in Moirabari Police Department.

GUWAHATI: In the Morigaon district of Assam, three cybercriminals were detained, and their possessions, including a significant quantity of offensive items, were seized.

After the Morigaon Police conducted a search operation at Xogunbari in Morigaon's Moirabari on Friday night, the feared cybercriminals were apprehended.

The cybercriminals have been identified as Ishaque Ali, Rabbul Islam, and Gyass Uddin. As per the reports, The three suspects are Xogunbari village residents of Moirabari.

Police recovered and seized 1,720 SIM cards in total, a Pulsar bike with the registration number AS-02A-H5609, and 11 cell phones from the trio’s possession. 

Based on specific information the police had received, search activities were initiated by the department. The evening-starting search operations continued until twelve in the midnight.

The trio is currently going through a interrogation process in Moirabari Police Department.

CM Himanta Biswa Sarma chaired a review meeting on 11th of January, Wednesday. It was a police review meeting where certain areas including recruitment of people, tackling the new age crimes, internal administrative issues etc were discussed. 

During the meeting, state’s senior police officials demonstrated presentation to the CM which revolved around ways and methods inculcated by the police departments to handle the 21st century challenges. 

The gathering took place at the Assam Police Headquarters in Guwahati. A well detailed plan was explained to the CM through the presentation as on how the state police department and home department are making efforts to convert the existing Assam Police force into a system which is capable of tackling the new age issues. 

CM Himanta Biswa Sarma instructed the top Assam police officials to gather ample number of man force in order to deal with crimes such as, child pornography, cybercrime and so on.
