GUWAHATI: For India vs. Sri Lanka One-Day International match in Guwahati, the Assam government has approved a half-day holiday in the Kamrup-Metro district on January 10.
An official announcement stated, "The Governor of Assam is happy to declare a half-day local holiday on January 10, 2023 in the Kamrup (Metro) district in honour of the ODI match between India and Sri Lanka to be held on January 10, 2023, at Barsapara ACA Cricket Stadium, Guwahati.
After 1 pm, all Assam government offices and educational institutions under the control of the Kamrup-Metro district shall close.
For the ODI match, several players from the cricket teams of India and Sri Lanka arrived in Guwahati, Assam.
Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, went to the Barsapara stadium on Saturday, January 7, to observe the ODI match preparations between India and Sri Lanka.
The first One Day International (ODI) cricket match between India and Sri Lanka is scheduled to take place at the Barsapara stadium in the state capital of Guwahati on January 10. In the meantime, the Assam Cricket Association (ACA) will work with an anti-snake non-governmental organisation (NGO) to keep birds and snakes away from the stadium.
During India vs. South Africa T20 International match that took place at the stadium in October, a snake was observed slithering around on the ground.
The match is anticipated to draw significant spectators because Guwahati has a sizable cricket fan base.
According to sources, the tickets are available now and it is important to remember that only online sales will be permitted for their purchase. Only the BookMyShow website would be utilised to sell tickets, according to the Assam Cricket Association.
The starting ticket price for students only is Rs 475. General admission ticket prices range from Rs. 1500 to Rs. 6000. Given this, it is reasonable to conclude that even the price of hospitality tickets is far less expensive than at other places.
