GOALPARA: Bhaskarjyoti Mahanta, Assam DGP, on Wednesday visited the Dudhnoi police station of Goalpara district and took stock of the recent marathon police operations undertaken by Goalpara district police as a whole and Dudhnoi police station in particular against the bike lifters and other anti-social activists.
The Dudhnoi police, under officer-in-charge Mukut Kakoty, during operations in the last 10 days, arrested 23 criminals, busted an inter-State car lifters' gang and recovered at least 51 stolen bikes, besides other objectionable goods.
DGP Mahanta warned the criminals involved in car and bike lifting in the State and said that not a single accused would be spared. He further urged the illegal purchasers of stolen bikes and cars to surrender to the police when there was still time. VV Rakesh Reddy, Goalpara Superintendent of Police, was present with the DGP in his Dudhnoi visit.
