SIVASAGAR: To help the students of Gargaon College prepare for civil services and other competitive examinations, Director General of Police, Assam, Gyanendra Pratap Singh donated a collection of books to the college.
In a function held at Gargaon College on Wednesday, Superintendent of Police of Sivasagar district, Subhrajyoti Bora, on behalf of the DGP, Assam Gyanendra Pratap Singh, officially handed over the books to Dr Sabyasachi Mahanta, noted academician and Principal of the college.
Dr Pankaj Kumar Nath, Librarian, Dr Surajit Saikia, IQAC coordinator of the college, along with a few other faculty members were also present on the occasion. Dr Mahanta acknowledged the book collection as a valuable asset for the college and extended heartfelt gratitude to DGP GP Singh for his magnanimity and benevolence. He expressed hope that the book collection will definitely be beneficial for the needy and underprivileged students.
