Assam: Dhubri district administration appeals to celebrate Eid peacefully

Kurbani has to be performed in a way that it did not hurt the sentiment of other communities living around and maintain peace, amity and brotherhood.

Dhubri: Dhubri Deputy Commissioner, Anbamuthan MP and Superintendent of Police Abhijit Gurav Dilip appealed to celebrate Eid-ul-Zoha peacefully abiding by laws, in a meeting held with the office bearers and members of Dhubri Idgah and Maszid committees of Dhubri in the DC's conference hall on Friday.

Dhubri Deputy Commissioner, Anbamuthan MP categorically stated that kurbani (animal sacrifice) has to be performed according to prevalent laws and latest instructions issued by the district administration.

In the same vein, Dhubri Superintendent of Police, Abhijit Gurav Dilip too said that the kurbani has to be performed in a way that it did not hurt the sentiment of other communities living around, and maintain peace, amity and brotherhood and among all sections of people.

Both also wished a happy Eid-ul-Zoha and sought full cooperation from the community in maintaining peace and harmony while celebrating Eid.

Office bearers and members of Idgah and Maszid committees assured the district administration that the community would abide by laws and instructions issued by the administration and perform the kurbani within their residential campus.

The meeting was also attended by chairman of Dhubri Municipal Board (DMB), Dr Debamoy Sanyal, ADC, Nitya Binod Wari and Executive Officer of DMB, Himangshu Saloi.
