Assam: Doomdooma College celebrates National Hindi Day

DOOMDOOMA: National Hindi Day was celebrated at Doomdooma College on Thursday in conjunction with the celebration of the day all over the country.

The programme got underway with planting of tree saplings at the entrance of the college by Vice-Principal Dr Champa Rao Mohan and Internal Quality Assurance Cell Coordinator Shivajit Dutta. Afterwards, a day-long programme was held to celebrate the day in the conference room of the college.

Assistant Professor Hiran Baishya Dutta, Head of the Hindi department, delivered the welcome speech. Dr Sunam Kumar Tiwari, teacher of the Hindi department of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, and Junaid Royni, librarian of the school, delivered speeches as invited guests. In his speech, Tiwari said that Hindi literature occupied a special place in the country. He said that the students would be able to find employment opportunities in various fields through this language.

Junaid Royni inaugurated a questionnaire book published by the Hindi Department of the college for the benefit of the students. Dr Kamaleshwar Kalita, Principal of the college, appreciated the efforts of the Hindi Department for publishing the book and said that it would open up new horizons for the students pursuing studies under Dibrugarh University.

The editor of the questionnaire book, Professor Hiran Baishya Dutta appreciated the generosity of the Principal in publishing the book and hoped that the students would be benefitted from the new education policy under Dibrugarh University.
