Assam: Dulal Chandra Goswami memorial research award-2023 presented

NAGAON: Dulal Chandra Goswami Memorial Charitable Trust on Friday ceremonially presented the prestigious Dulal Chandra Goswami memorial research award-2023 to Dr Bhuban Ch Chutia, Assistant professor, Department of Zoology with certificate, memento and cash prize for his outstanding contribution towards scientific research, innovation in ericulture, quality publications and undertaking social responsibility to uplift the rural people of Assam through various research projects sponsored by central as well as the State government funding agencies.

Besides, the lifetime achievement award was awarded to Dr Farishta Yasmin, associate professor, Department of Botany for her initiatives and contribution towards promotion of research environment at Nowgong College.

The award presentation ceremony was organized by the Trust at Lakshminath Bezbaroa Sabha Kakshya of the college in association with Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the college.

The proceedings of the award presentation ceremony was initiated by Dr Annanya Hiloidari while the principal of the college chaired the session and welcomed the guests, awardees and participants.

Dulal Chandra Memorial Trust, especially Dr Mukut Goswami and Dr Bibha Goswami, noted physicians of the district through the trust try to create the research environment as well as to uplift and encourage the scholars to be involved in more research work.

Professor PJ Handique, vice chancellor of Gauhati University attended the award presentation ceremony as the chief guest. Dr Sarat Kr Dutta, president of college governing body and Dr Mukut Goswami, one of the founder of the trust were also present in the programme. Dr Bibha Goswami, the wife of Dr Mukut Goswami donated four volume of Rhik Veda preserved by her father to the Museum of Nowgong College (Autonomous).
