GUWAHATI: As per the Election Commission of India, Assam Assembly elections 2021 will be held in 3 phases and the elections to be held on March 27, April 1 and April 6 and the countings on May 2, 2021.
Meanwhile, the term of the Legislative Assembly of Assam is due to expire on 31.05.2021.
The Election Commission of India (hereinafter ECI) is committed to conducting a free, fair, participative, accessible, inclusive and safe election to the Legislative Assemblies of Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Puducherry before the cessation of its term, in the exercise of the authority and powers conferred upon under Article 324 read with Article 172 (1) of the Constitution of India and Section 15 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951.
