Assam: Ex-servicemen rally to be held in Dibrugarh

DIBRUGARH: As part of the Indian Army’s resolve to reach out and honour the Veer Naris, widows of Ex-servicemen and the entire ex-servicemen fraternity, the DAO Division of the Indian Army will organize an ‘Ex-servicemen Rally’ at the Dibrugarh University ground, Dibrugarh on October 29.

The Ex-servicemen Rally will witness attendance of veterans from regions of Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Digboi and Duliajan. The Dao Division, in close coordination with military establishments and civil administration concerned, aims at resolution of grievances and pension anomalies of ex-servicemen.

Participation of all grievance-redressal forums has been organized to enable a ‘one stop’ mitigation and redressal of grievances. The annual event is part of the organizational endeavour to ensure that adequate awareness and opportunities are accorded to the military veterans towards their entitlements. Conducted under the theme ‘We Connect….. We Care….. We Share’, the rally is expected to witness the presence of over 4,000 ESM and their dependents.

Felicitation of Veer Naris, Disabled Soldiers, ESM above 80 years of age by the Indian Army’s serving fraternity to honour the sacrifice and contributions towards the nation made by the veterans has also been planned during the event, which will be attended by a number of military and civil dignitaries.
