Assam: Eye flu causes concern

MORIGAON: More than 259 cases of conjunctivitis or eye flu have reportedly been registered at Morigaon Swahid Tilak-Hemram Gunaviram Civil Hospital. The outbreak of the viral disease has been reported at Laharighat, Dharamtul, Mourabari, Morigaon, Bhuragaon and Jagiroad.

The symptoms include redness, itching and tearing of the eyes. It can also lead to discharge or crusting around the eyes, said superintendent of the civil hospital, Dr Arun Nath. He said, “Affected people must take care and necessary treatment. They must take precaution that the infection does not spread to others.”
